8:30 AM – Arrival at Monadnock State Park (Dublin or White Dot Trailhead
Arriving at Monadnock State Park early to experience the best opportunity to explore one of New Hampshire's most iconic hiking destinations. Mount Monadnock, standing at 3,165 feet, is renowned for being one of the Trail options.
Trail Highlights:
- White Dot Trail: The fastest route to the summit, this 1.9-mile trail challenges hikers with steep, rugged sections and thrilling rock scrambles, rewarding them with breathtaking vistas as they near the top.
- White Cross Trail: A gentler, 2.1-mile descent route known for its scenic viewpoints, this popular trail attracts thousands of hikers each year with its accessible path and captivating views of one of the world’s most climbed peaks.

8:45 AM – Start the Hike on White Dot Trail
Begin the hike up Mt. Monadnock via the popular White Dot Trail!
This is the shortest and steepest route to the summit, providing beautiful panoramic views along the way. The trail is 4 4-mile round trip, with an elevation gain of about 1,700 feet, and takes roughly 4 hours to complete, depending on pace. To learn more about the trail, click here!

10:45 AM – Reach Mt. Monadnock Summit
Enjoy the rewarding 360-degree views from the summit. On clear days, you can see the Boston skyline and views of the surrounding New England landscape.
- Cost: Free with park entry.
- Duration: 30 minutes for photos, rest, and taking in the views.
Pro-Tip: Bring plenty of water and snacks for a break at the summit.
11:15 AM – Begin Descent via White Cross Trail
Head back down via the White Cross Trail, which is less steep and provides a different perspective of the landscape. Embrace the journey down the White Cross Trail, where each step unveils sweeping views and gentle slopes perfect for savoring nature’s grandeur. Learn more about the trail here!

12:45 PM – Lunch at Monadnock Country Cafe
After the hike, drive to nearby Peterborough for a relaxing lunch at Monadnock Country Cafe, known for its comfort food, quick bites, and great coffee and New England favorites.
